Pool Rules
General
  • Check in at the front of the lifeguard office before using the Fermata facilities. Guest Fees are $5 per guest per visit and can be purchased in multiples for discounted rates.  Pre-purchase your guest passes here.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a person 16 years or older. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children/guests at all times.
  • No running on the pool deck.
  • Children that are not toilet trained should be in swim diapers.
  • Clean up your area before you leave. If you see a piece of trash, please help by picking it up. Do not chew gum in or around the pool and deck area. Keep food and wrappers away from the pool, preferably in the grass area.
  • Smoking in the pool area is not allowed. Patrons that wish to smoke must be at least 15 ft. away from the breezeway entrance and fences.
  • No unauthorized persons are permitted in the lifeguard office, concession room or equipment rooms.
  • Patrons that need anything from the lifeguard office should ask a non-active duty lifeguard or the Pool Manager.
  • The phone located in the breezeway should not be used for anything other than emergencies.
  • When there is no lifeguard on duty, the pool is not to be left unattended. The last member to leave should lock the gate with the chain and padlock and be sure the bathrooms, office and concession room are locked.
  • Lap swimming lane is to be honored at all times. If there is a lap swimmer, all other swimmers must be courteous to wait until the swimmer has passed and then swim under the lane lines.
  • No hanging, sitting or other tampering with the lane lines.
  • No tennis or other hard balls in pool. Only pool splash balls or other pool balls may enter the pool.
  • Absolutely no glass containers inside pool area. This includes glass tops to food containers.

 

Diving

  • The diving area must be clear before diving.
  • Only one person on the diving board at a time.
  • No swimming is permitted in the diving area.
  • No child with “water wings” may jump from the diving board unless there is a parent or other adult in the water to receive the non-swimming child.
  • No hanging, sitting or running on diving board.

 

Wading Pool

  • A parent or guardian is responsible for children in wading pool at all times. The wading pool is secondary in the lifeguard scan area.
  • Moving through the wading pool at a pace faster than a slow walk will not be allowed.
  • Only small children are allowed in the wading pool.

 

Lifeguards

  • Only lifeguards are permitted on the lifeguard chair and/or use of any lifeguard equipment.
  • Lifeguards are on duty to maintain order and enforce all rules.
  • Lifeguards will expel members or guests from the pool area who persist in failing to observe these rules.
  • Guards may ban a child from the pool for the rest of the day. Further disciplinary action is referred to the Fermata Club Board of Directors.
  • While lifeguards will clean up the pool building and pool area at break time, their primary job is monitoring the pool and the safety of the swimmers. Members should help by picking up their area and monitoring their children in the bathrooms.
